Process

  1. First, you will be assigned to a group of 3 students. Each student must play an important role. There will be a Housing Specialist, Culinary Specialist, and Fashion Specialist.

  2. Once you have each chosen a role, your team will be assigned one of the three following tribes: The Cherokee, The Lenni Lenape, or The Wampanoag.

  3. As a team of historians, you must decide how you want to present your travel poster. You may use digital media such as Powerpoint, Prezi, or Google Slides. You may also choose to create a paper poster. No matter which you choose, be sure to include pictures and the information from your quest!

  4. Each person on your team has a specific role. There are several questions that each person must answer about the tribe based on their specialty. You will find them in the research notebook sheet linked in the list below. You must save a copy of the page to your google account and then you may fill in the information directly into the graphic organizer. Once you have filled it in, share a copy with your teacher, and you may print or share with your team. The questions are also presented at the bottom of this page.

  5. You may begin your quest by clicking one of the links below for your tribe. You will find everything you need there, but if you want additional resources, they are listed under number 7.

LENNI LENAPE TRIBE

WAMPANOAG TRIBE

  6. Once your team has completed their research and filled in their notebook page, you will come together and share what you have learned.  From there, you will work together to create a poster to showcase all that you have learned.  You must work together and you must include pictures from your “travels”.  Pictures may be found on the links under #8, or through a google image search. Be sure to include how your tribe may be similar or different from today’s world (compare and contrast!).

7. When your research and poster are complete, you and your team will present them to the class together.

PLEASE NOTE: If you use pictures from the internet in your final project, please be sure to copy and paste the location (url) of the website you borrowed the picture from into a Word document to be handed in with your work.  We must always remember to credit other people’s work when we borrow it!
